SBN’s GSI Partners Virtual Quarterly Meeting: Friday, July 16
Summary
Description
Join us for our summer GSI Partners Quarterly Meeting! Our special guests for this meeting are:
- Alexis Schulman, Ph.D., Dolan Fellow & Assistant Research Professor of Biodiversity, Earth, and Environmental Science at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (ANS)
- Michael Campagna, Data Scientist for the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (ANS)
- Beth Anne Lutes, Stormwater Billing and Incentives Manager for the Philadelphia Water Department
ANS will present their data visualization study, which identifies regions in Philadelphia where private investment in GSI could greatly support the city’s efforts to reduce CSOs while providing substantive community benefits to neighborhoods suffering from chronic disinvestment and facing cumulative environmental hazards. They’ll also share their GIS-based tool that layers data on sub-sewershed sensitivity, neighborhood disadvantage, ecological vulnerability, community capacity, and site feasibility to prioritize neighborhoods and privately-owned parcels for GSI implementation.
Additionally, we’ll also have Beth Anne Lutes, PWD's Stormwater Billing and Incentives Manager, present on the next round of stormwater grants and updates to PWD’s website.
Finally, we’ll share highlights from our latest economic report, Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI): A Tool for Economic Recovery and Growth in Pennsylvania, as well as details of our upcoming workshop with The Nature Conservancy and the University of Maryland Environmental Finance Center. Guests can also expect to network with their fellow peers and industry partners.
GSI Partners members are welcome to attend. Please register above!
