Join the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN) and the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) on Friday, October 7 at 10 am for a virtual panel on impact investing. Small business owners can expect to hear from experts and business owners about the value of impact investment, what it is, how to know if it suits their business, and how to pitch to potential investors. The panel will be moderated by SBN’s Executive Director, Devi Ramkissoon. There will be time at the end of the program for Q&A.

 

Speaking on the panel are:

 

John Moore, Strategic Advisor, American Sustainable Business Network

John is currently an advisor to the American Sustainable Business Network’s impact investor network, Investor Circle. He is also a Founder and current Executive Chair of ImpactPHL, an alliance to accelerate the impact investing ecosystem in the greater Philadelphia region. As a successful angel investor for almost 20 years, John has invested in over 50 early-stage companies through both Robin Hood Ventures, where he is a managing partner, and Investors Circle. He has served on the Board of several startup social enterprises, his favorite being Wash Cycle Laundry. When he is not investing for impact, he is looking for excuses to go skiing or mountain biking.

 

 

 

Harry Michel, Co-Founder, and CEO of Locus Mobility

Harry is an entrepreneur, educator, strategist, and designer who has brought these disciplines together to solve complex operational problems and tell compelling product stories. As a startup founder, he used his passion for solving problems with technology to provide a premium experience that removes the friction of vehicle ownership from the lives of his customers. He is the co-founder and CEO of Locus Mobility, a B2B2C company, where he’s scaled from a single market to 5 markets nationally. He’s designed pitch decks that have raised over $500K in venture capital investment from investors.

Devi Ramkissoon comes to SBN with 15+ years of experience in international development, specializing in working with sustainable businesses for economic growth and poverty reduction. An immigrant and social entrepreneur herself, Devi has worked tirelessly to advance the work of small businesses from underrepresented communities across Latin America, Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
