Best Practice Forum: Making Your Voice Heard to Local Government

11/18/2020 09:00 AM - 10:30 AM ET

Summary

Learn how business owners can engage with local government and elected officials to address their needs and better advocate for resources and support.

Description

COVID-19 and its impact on our local business community have proven just how much our survival relies on local government support. Join us for a panel discussion on how business owners can engage with local government and elected officials to address their needs and better advocate for resources and support. As always, SBN continues to be a resource for you and your business to get the ear of elected officials.

The panel will feature a mix of business owners and local economy leaders who have previously advocated for our local business community to City and State government, including Jezabel Careaga of Jezabel’s Café, Jeffrey Miller of Jeffrey Miller Catering, Jihad Ali of The Enterprise Center, and Silvia Lucci of LUHV Food.

Some discussion topics will include: the process for local businesses to get involved with politics and how it works, how and when participation can be most effective and what’s to come on a policy level that businesses need to know, and the steps to lobbying as a form of collective impact.

Attending business owners will learn actionable steps to get involved with local politics and advocate for their business.

This program is for SBN members only.
